Rabat – Morocco has signed a partnership agreement that aims to develop and promote the country’s industrial and commercial property, as part of the first edition of the National Industry Day, which started on Wednesday in Casablanca.
The agreement seeks to establish a general framework of collaboration that promotes the effective use of industrial and commercial property tools, notably through awareness-raising and training programs.
It was signed by Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, the Director General of the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) Abdelaziz Babqiqi, and the President of the General Confederation of Entreprises (CGEM) Chakib Alj.
In addition, CGEM and the Ministry of Industry and Trade signed another agreement defining the terms of the partnership between the two parties to maintain the organization of the National Industry Day each year.
The opening day saw the presence of a number of officials from the Moroccan government, including Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development Leila Benali, among others.

The event is an opportunity to bring stakeholders together with the aim of developing the country’s industry and addressing the sector’s challenges.
King Mohammed VI addressed a message to the participants of the event, expressing his hope for the National Industry Day to become “an annual get-together for industry and the stakeholders involved” and to “shed light on local industrial capabilities.”
In addition, he highlighted Morocco as a key destination in the global market for several crucial industries, such as aviation and the automotive sector, celebrating the “significant progress” that the country achieved in this regard.
The country’s industrial sector has managed to “carve out a place for itself in highly technical professions and specializations, thus becoming an engine for growth, production, and export,” the monarch said.
The King stressed that creating more job opportunities for Moroccan youth should be the industry’s “foremost concern.” Highly qualified staff in the human resources department are crucial in achieving the country’s industrial ambitions, he added.
Speaking at the event, the Director General of the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion Loubna Tricha said that graduates of the industrial sectors record the highest rates of integration into the job market. Automotive sector graduates dominate this trend, making up more than 70% of graduates from industrial sectors.
