Rabat – Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat could be in for a big move this summer as his agent confirmed AC Fiorentina are open to facilitating a move, after refusing offers in the January transfer window.
Speaking to Egyptian football news outlet Kora Plus, Amrabat’s agent Mohamed Sinouh confirmed that the player received offers in January, following impressive performances in the 2022 World Cup, but none of the negotiations could be finished in time.
“The Fiorentina president completely refused to let the player go in the winter, since he is a key part of the team’s strength at the time, especially after what he showed in the Qatar World Cup late last year,” Sinouh said.

The agent revealed that Premier League club Manchester United was among the most notable offers, but the English club could not reach an agreement with Fiorentina before deadline day ended.
“At the present time we don’t have any offers for Sofyan Amrabat to leave, but Fiorentina is welcoming a move for the player in the summer especially after the club president promised that after refusing the January window offers,” he added.
FC Barcelona also tried to acquire the player’s services in January, which according to converging reports would have been a dream move for the Moroccan midfielder.
However, the cash-strapped Spanish club was unable to meet Fiorentina’s demands. The Italian club wanted a permanent move instead of a loan, leading to the move being called off.
Sofyan Amrabat’s transfer market value went up following impressive performances at the World Cup, as was the case with several other Moroccan players, such as Yassine Bounou and Azzedine Ounahi.
Amrabat has had 39 appearances for Fiorentina this season, being one of the most essential members of the squad as a ball-winning midfielder.
