Join on Telegram Rabat – Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired on Sunday in Rabat a lunch ceremony offered by King Mohammed VI on the 67th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch attended the lunch ceremony along with several military and senior government officials.
Earlier today, King Mohammed VI congratulated the military for the FAR anniversary, emphasizing their role and contribution to Morocco’s security.
“The tasks you perform, the sincere will and self denial you show in defending the homeland and its territorial integrity, in keeping with the oath of the Green March, are the reasons for our pride and our esteem towards you and towards the commendable missions entrusted to the members of the Royal armed Forces, all components combined, land, air, naval, and Royal Gendarmerie,” the king Mohammed VI said.
The monarch also announced his instructions for the creation of the Royal Center for Defense Studies and Research under the Royal College of Higher Military Education.
The center aims to contribute to boosting Morocco’s approach in tackling challenges facing the defense and security system as well as to create a space for analytical, civil, and military competencies.
The center is part of Morocco’s approach to strengthening the country’s military logistical and operational capabilities to “acquire modern technical means” in areas like the management of operations, surveillance, and digitization.
Morocco has the 61st strong military globally, according to the Global Firepower Index.
In January, the report ranked Morocco 61st out of 145 countries, with an overall power index score of 1.0524.
