Rabat – The northern Israeli city of Hadera is hosting the “Dialna” (Meaning “Ours” in Moroccan Darija) exhibition between May 16 and 25, featuring a diverse collection of traditional Moroccan handicraft products, presented by more than 30 craftsmen from the School of Traditional Moroccan Jewish Arts.

The exhibition aims to celebrate the rich heritage of Moroccan Jewish culture by showcasing various art forms, including ceramics, sculptures, printmaking, weaving, and musical compositions.

The exhibition, which features a wide range of Moroccan traditional items, including Caftans, aims to introduce Moroccan handicraft products to the Israeli market.

The significance of this event was recognized during a meeting at the Chamber of Arts and Crafts in the Moroccan city of Fez, according to i24News. The gathering was attended by the Director of the Chamber Abdelmalek al-Boutien and the coordinator of relations between the Chamber and the city of Hadera, Abraham Avizmir.

The idea for the exhibition came to light following a visit by a delegation from Hadera to Fez, an ancient and culturally rich city, renowned for its remarkable historical legacy and antiquity.

Fez has a long-standing relationship with the Jewish community, as their presence has greatly influenced the city’s culture. The city was home to the largest Jewish population in Morocco, who left behind an enduring legacy of shared traditions and cultural influences.

Hadera’s Mayor Nir Ben Haim of Hadera expressed his delight at hosting the exhibition, saying it has allowed Moroccan artists to showcase their talent in Israel for the first time. *

“This is an event that connects our two peoples through culture and art. I invite everyone to come to Hadera for this unique, original, and inspiring exhibition, with dozens of Moroccan artisans who will present handicrafts from the traditional cultural mosaic of the Jews of Morocco,” i24News quoted Ben Haim as saying.
