Rabat – The province of Ouezzane in northern Morocco witnessed a momentous occasion on Thursday, as several crucial development projects were launched to mark the 24th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s accession to the throne. With a total investment of 101 million mad ($10.3 million), these projects aim to uplift the region and improve the lives of its inhabitants.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were distinguished guest such as the Governor of Ouezzane, Mehdi Chalabi, the Secretary-General of the prefecture, the President of the Provincial Council of Ouezzane, the President of the Local Council of Ulema, and representatives from the Regional Council of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and the Agency for the Promotion and Development of the North (APDN).

In Brikcha, the governor inaugurated a second-level health centre and a dispensary in El Jabriyin, both funded under the Territorial and Social Disparities Reduction Program (PRDTS), ensuring better healthcare accessibility for the local population.

The governor and the accompanying delegation also marked the opening of the Oued EL Makhazine Dam Community School in Mzefroune. With an investment of 5.2 million dirhams ($533,000), this school project was financed by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, aiming to provide a conducive learning environment for the students in the region.

Additionally, a road section linking provincial road 4103 to Douar Tizirane in Ain Beida, stretching over 6.6 km, was funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests.

The region will also witness infrastructural improvements with the development of the road connecting provincial road 4527 to Douar AIn Mchalaou in Asjen, spanning 5.5 km.
