The Islamic New Year falls on the first day of Muharram, the first month of the year in the Islamic calendar.
The holiday holds profound significance for Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates the historic event of the Hijra, the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE, marking the establishment of the first Islamic state.
This migration not only shaped the course of Islamic history but also serves as a symbol of courage, faith, and resilience.
