Rabat – King Mohammed VI has extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to heads of states in the Islamic world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year 1445.

As Morocco marks the beginning of the Hijri year on Wednesday, the King’s messages express warm sentiments of brotherhood, unity, and prosperity.

In his message, the monarch conveyed his sincere congratulations and prayers for the well-being, good health, and happiness of kings, presidents, leaders, and Emirs of Islamic states.

In addition, he prayed for continued peace, tranquility, and prosperity for countries in the Islamic world.

The Islamic New Year falls on the first day of Muharram, the first month of the year in the Islamic calendar.

The holiday holds profound significance for Muslims worldwide, as it commemorates the historic event of the Hijra, the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE, marking the establishment of the first Islamic state.

This migration not only shaped the course of Islamic history but also serves as a symbol of courage, faith, and resilience.

King Mohammed VI emphasized the importance of the Hijri year and its role in fostering unity and reinforcing the values of Islam. His message aimed to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation among Muslim nations, promoting mutual understanding, peace, and prosperity.

Muslims around the world widely observe and celebrate the Hijri year, both spiritually and culturally.

For many, it is a time for reflection, gratitude, and renewal of faith, as worshipers embark on a spiritual journey with the aim of getting closer to Allah.

The Islamic holiday is also an opportunity for Muslims to come together and engage in acts of worship, as well as exchange greetings and good wishes.
