Rabat – Guinea has reaffirmed its “firm and constant” support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, describing the country’s Autonomy Plan initiative as the “only credible and realistion solution” to end the dispute over Western Sahara.
Guinea’s Foreign Affairs minister Morissanda Kouyate reiterated his country’s position during the 7th session of the Morocco-Guinea Joint Cooperation Commission held today in Dakhla, southern Morocco.

In a joint press release, Guinea also reiterated support for the UN-led political process as an exclusive and consensual framework to reach a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the WesternS ahara regional dispute.
Guinea is part of a growing list of countries that frequently express sport for Morocco’s territorial integrity.
In January 2020, the Guinean government reflected its support for Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara with the opening of a general consulate in Dakhla.
Over 27 countries opened consulates in Moroccan southern provinces of Laayoune and Dakhla, reflecting their support and recognition of Morocco’s territorial integrity.
In his speech on the anniversary of the Revolution of King and People last year in August, King Mohammed VI recalled that nearly 40% of African countries have cemented their support for Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara by opening consulates in Dakhla or Laayoune.
“I would like to say how much I value the position adopted by our brothers in Africa; approximately 40% of African countries from five regional groups have opened consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla,” the King said in his speech.
