Rabat – British venture capital firm Virgin Group announced on Tuesday plans to open six new riads in Kasbah Tamadot’s hotel, located 55 kilometers south of the Moroccan red city of Marrakech.

Set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, the award-winning retreat promises to offer an enhanced experience for travelers starting September 2024, indicated Virgin Group in a press release.

With the new expansion, the Kasbah Tamadot resort will feature an additional option for guests with the new two-bedroom riads. The statement indicated that the riads are perfect for families or small groups, accommodating up to six people.

Each riad consists of a deluxe pool suite and a deluxe room connected by a spacious living area, providing a private and self-contained space for guests.

A highlight of the new riads, the statement added, is the private pool and vast terrace, allowing guests to relax in style while taking in the beauty of Morocco’s landscapes.

True to the Moroccan aesthetic, the riads’ interiors are adorned with traditional furnishings that “reflect the peaceful surroundings,” added Virgin Group.

The riads are also a showcase of history, featuring antiques and items from the collection of Luciano Tempo, the former owner of Kasbah Tamadot and a renowned antiques dealer and interior designer.

General Manager of Kasbah Tamadot David Redouane expressed his enthusiasm for the new expansion, saying, “We are thrilled to announce the addition of six new riads to our magical retreat here in the Atlas Mountains.”

“This extension of Kasbah Tamadot’s offering will provide a private and self-contained space, which is ideal for extended families and small groups,” he added, promising to share the region’s “incredible Berber hospitality and culture with further guests.”

Kasbah Tamadot’s offerings extend beyond its accommodations, noted the statement, explaining that guests can indulge in an array of activities during their stay, from tennis and trekking to relaxation in the traditional Hammam.

The resort also offers opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant Amazigh culture through activities such as mule trekking, Berber cooking lessons, and sharing tea with locals in the neighboring village.
