Rabat – A new heatwave is expected to hit several Moroccan provinces, starting Friday across several Moroccan provinces.

Under the new heatwave, temperatures will reach up to 49 degrees Celsius, the General Directorate of Meteorology said, noting that this weather will persist until Sunday.

Temperatures between 38 and 42 degrees will hit the provinces of Ifrane, El Hajeb, Oujda Angad, Taourirt, as well as Jerada.

The same weather will hit Ouarzazate, Boumalne, Tinghir, Rabat, Nouaceur, Tetouan, Fahs Anjra, Al Hoceima, Driouch, Nador, and Berkane.

The same regions might witness a significant rise in temperatures over Friday and Saturday, while other provinces like Taroudant, Inzegane Ait Melloul, and Chtouka Ait Baha are expected to record temperatures between 46 and 49 degrees.

The same weather will concern Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chichaoua, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Essaouira, Marrakech, Rehamna, Safi, Youssoufia, Tan-Tan, Assa-Zag, Guelmim, Tarfaya, Laayoune, Boujdour, Es-Semara, and Oued Ed-Dahab.

Temperatures will reach between 44 and 47 degrees in several provinces like Ouazzane, Fez, Meknes, Moulay Yacoub, Guercif, and Khemisset.

The same weather will concern Taounate, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Taza, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Benslimane, Sidi Bennour, Khenifra, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat, Zagora, and Errachidia.

Tiznit, Tata, Sidi Ifni, and Aousserd.

The provinces of Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Chefchaouen, Ailal and Al Haouz, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Berrechid, as well as Skhirat Temara, Sale, Kenitra, and El Jadida, will record temperatures ranging between 37 and 41 degrees.

Meanwhile, temperatures between 44 and 47 degrees are expected in the provinces of Taroudant, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, as well as Inzegane Ait Melloul will experience temperatures between 44 and 47 degrees on Sunday.

The same weather will concern a lengthy list of provinces, particularly in the south, including Chtouka Ait Baha, Guelmim, Assa-Zag, Tan-Tan, Tarfaya, Boujdour, Es-Semara, Laayoune, Oued Ed-Dahab, Ouezzane, Dez, Meknes, and Taounate.

High temperatures will also reach Moulay Yacoub, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Settat Rhamna, Youssoufia Safi, Marrakech, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Chichaoua, Essaouira, Errachidia, Tiznit, Tata and Sidi Ifni.

Temperatures of 39 and 43 degrees will concern the provinces of Larache, Guercif, Taza, Khemisset, Azilal, Al Haouz, Sefrou, El Hajeb, Khenifra, Kenitra, Benslimane, and Sidi Bennour.

Morocco has been witnessing a series of heatwaves, affecting several provinces across the North African country.
