Rabat – Abderazzak Hamdallah has successfully booked a spot in this week’s Roshn Saudi League (RSL) team of the week.
The 32-year-old striker managed to open the score for his team in the 58th minute against Al Raed FC, contributing to the team leading the RSL table by goal difference after the first game week.
With the arrival of former Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema, Hamdallah’s playing time had decreased significantly. However, that did not stop the Moroccan from delivering great performances when on the pitch.
“Hamdallah would have been especially bad after seeing ‘his’ number 9 and the penalties awarded to Benzema when he had finished as the club’s and Saudi Pro League’s top scorer in the last season (21 goals),” Afrikfoot reported.
Abderazzak Hamdallah was the target of heavy criticism from Moroccan fans and netizens after his humble performances with Atlas Lions in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
However, head coach Walid Regragui has expressed confidence in the qualities that the player has and is positive that he will deliver whenever needed.
“It was I who brought Hamdallah and I know when to put him in the game or not. I called him because I believe in him,” Regragui stated. “He integrated quickly with the group and that’s why I appreciate him.”
Al Ittihad’s upcoming fixture will be against Al Taee this Saturday starting at 7 P.M. Moroccan time.
