Rabat – Manchester United’s head coach Erik Ten Hag commented Sunday on Sofyan Amrabat joining the Red Devils during his post-match press conference.
Amrabat joined Man U in a loan deal from ACF Fiorentina until the summer of 2024 with an option to buy.
“It is very good to have him and I think he adapts very well to Premier League football, to the Champions League. I think the demands are strong,” Ten Hag said.
The Dutch also talked about the team needing another starting defensive midfielder as Manchester United only has Casemiro who is no longer performing at his highest level seeing his age.
Amrabat is known for his strength and for his control of the flow of the game, which notably assists him in serving as a linking point between the center backs and the forwards.
The Red Devils are known for controlling the game in the opposition’s half with constant pressure from the sides. In order to maintain the defensive position, Amrabat’s qualities were highly requested.
With names such as Garnacho, Hojlund, Antony, and Rashford leading the attack of Manchester United, the 27-year-old is expected to bring more solidity to Manchester United’s midfield and more cohesion to the team’s transition between offensive and defensive phases during games.
