Several provinces across Morocco have been witnessing dust storms and strong wind throughout lately, particularly over the weekend.
The weather also affected areas in the Al Haouz region, which witnessed a devastating earthquake on September 8 – leaving many people homeless.
People whose houses collapsed took tents as shelters amid relief efforts seeking to reconstruct the affected areas and provide safe shelter.
On Saturday, authorities in the region launched an operation aimed at protecting the residents of the Moulay Brahim municipality from the drop in temperatures and the adverse weather conditions.
Under the operation, waterproof tents were distributed and established for the benefit of the affected population.
The tents are reportedly equipped with all necessary needs including being connected to the electrical grid. Food supply kits were also distributed by the Mohammed V Foundation for the affected population.
