Rabat – Palestinian medical sources have confirmed the death of at least 313 Palestinians due to the Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.
The attacks came following a surprise attack carried out by the resistance movement of Hamas against Israel on Saturday morning.
The Israeli response caused the deaths of at least 313 Palestinians, while 1,990 others were injured.
“The sources said several dead bodies, including those of children and a pregnant woman, were recovered from the rubble of a house of which was leveled to the ground by Israeli warplanes in the central Gaza Strip,” Palestinian news agency WAFA reported today.
The attacks targeted several locations, including Palestinian buildings and Hamas offices in the city.
The situation has caused international frustration and uproar, with appeals calling for an immediate end of civilian killings.
The UN said that all “diplomatic efforts” are made to avoid a “wider conflagration.”
The UN also emphasized that civilians must be respected and protected in accordance with international humanitarian law at all times.
The crisis has created divided opinions, with many emphasizing that the resistance movement’s attack is the result of decades-long Israeli aggression on Palestinians and their legitimate right to enjoy an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
