Rabat – Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant sparked frustration amid an already fragile situation due to continued Israeli aggression targeting Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The minister described Palestinians and the resistance movement of Hamas as “human animals.”
“We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly,” he said, emphasizing that he ordered a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip.
He also announced that Palestinians will be deprived of food, electricity, and fuel. “Everything is closed,” he stressed.
The provocative remarks came amid calls and appeals for the international community to end the devastating war that has already claimed over 508 Palestinian lives.
According to converging news reports, over 1,000 people have died on both sides since the start of clashes between forces from the resistance movement of Hamas and Israeli troops.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has called on the international community to intervene to stop Israeli attacks on medical personnel and ambulances in Gaza, where dozens of children and women have been killed since the latest clashes began on Saturday.
Mai Alkaila, Palestine’s Health Minister, said that the Israeli troops deliberately bombed hospitals and ambulances, killing and injuring medical staff.
Confirming the minister’s assessment, a correspondent of the Palestinian News Agency said that an Israeli warplane attacked an ambulance northwest of Gaza, destroying the vehicle and wounding the crew and a patient that it was transporting to a hospital.
