Rabat – The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has killed 11,470 people, including 4,700 children, 3,155 women, and 688 elderly people, according to the latest figures from the Palestinian Health Ministry.
In addition, 29,000 people have suffered injuries in the attacks, according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The death toll includes 203 health workers and 36 civil defense workers. Over 210 health workers also sustained injuries.
WAFA also quoted the health ministry as stating that 197 Palestinians in the West Bank have been killed by Israeli army gunfire so far, and that 2,750 have been injured.
Israel began its current military campaign on the Gaza Strip on October 7 following a surprise attack by Hamas, and immediately targeted civilian sites such as residential buildings, hospitals, and religious places of worship.
This has continued to happen amid international inaction, with the US especially rejecting calls for a ceasefire and blocking international attempts at implementing one.
US President Joe Biden ignited controversy on Wednesday with remarks in which he attempted to justify Israel’s murderous Gaza campaign, including the targeting of civilian sites such as hospitals.
“This is not carpet bombing. This is a different thing. They’re going through these tunnels; they’re going in the hospital,” Biden claimed on Wednesday in defense of Israel’s siege on the Al Shifa Hospital.
As the violence continues, many cities around the world have also seen major protests against the violence, with London recently witnessing the country’s largest pro-Palestine march ever.
Moroccans have also taken to the streets several times over the past month, especially in the capital Rabat, showing unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and condemnation for Israeli war crimes.
