Rabat – A coalition of factions in Palestine has called for a global strike to reiterate condemnation of the Israeli aggression targeting civilians, including civilians for more than two months.
The National and Islamic Forces issued a press release calling on people in Palestine and across the world to take to the streets on Monday to voice their rejection of the Israeli aggression currently taking place in Gaza.
“We expect the entire globe to join the strike, which comes in the context of a broad international movement involving influential figures,” the coalition said in its statement. “This movement stands against the open genocide in Gaza, the ethnic cleansing and the colonial settlement in the West Bank.”
The strike will also aim to stand against attempts to undermine the “just national cause of the Palestinian people,” the coalition added.
The new appeal comes as Israel continues its ruthless shelling and bombardments against Gaza, killing tens of thousands of people amid inaction from the international community.
On Friday, the US vetoed an Arab-backed resolution calling for a ceasefire. The US decision came as no surprise as the country has steadily opposed a ceasefire, claiming that it would serve Hamas’ interest.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced that Israeli occupation forces have murdered more than 17,900 Palestinians while over 51,000 others have been injured since the start of the Israeli aggression against Gaza and the occupied West Bank on October 7.
The majority of the victims are children, women, and the elderly, the ministry said.
