Rabat — The Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, met on Thursday with a French parliamentary delegation in Rabat, asserting the growing momentum in Morocco-France relations as the two countries continue to deepen their strategic partnership during the 15th Morocco-France High-Level Meeting.
The French delegation included Minister for Overseas Territories Naïma Moutchou, National Assembly member Karim Ben Cheikh, and Senator Christian Cambon, who are visiting Morocco on July 15-16 to participate in the bilateral meeting alongside senior government officials.
The talks focused on the long-standing ties between Morocco and France, highlighting the historical relationship, mutual respect, and expanding cooperation between the two countries. Talbi Alami expressed appreciation for France’s consistent position in support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Southern Provinces, describing France as one of the Kingdom’s key strategic partners.
He also reaffirmed that Morocco’s foreign policy, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, is based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, non-interference in internal affairs, and cooperation with international and regional partners to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

During the meeting, Talbi Alami briefed the French delegation on Morocco’s major development projects and reforms launched under the King’s leadership. The discussions also explored parliamentary cooperation, including exchanges between the two legislatures and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in reinforcing bilateral ties.
The two sides highlighted the achievements of the Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum, describing it as a successful platform for strengthening institutional cooperation and dialogue between lawmakers from both countries.
Regional and international issues of shared parliamentary interest also featured on the agenda.
The parliamentary meeting comes as Morocco and France intensify bilateral engagement through the 15th Morocco-France High-Level Meeting, co-chaired by Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
The summit has brought together ministers from both governments across a wide range of sectors, resulting in the signing of 14 cooperation agreements covering areas including culture, agriculture, education, transport, and innovation, reflecting the renewed momentum of the two countries’ strengthened strategic partnership.
