Rabat – In order to enhance air connectivity between Morocco and Spain, renowned low-cost airline Ryanair has announced a new flight route linking Marrakech and Murcia, adding further deepening to its extensive summer program in the region.
The announcement comes after the airline declared its most extensive summer schedule ever in Morocco last December.
Commencing on April 3 and continuing until October 26, 2024, the new route will operate two flights per week, scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, as reported by television channel Televisión Murciana.
This strategic move is not limited to Marrakech, as the airline will also introduce new connections from Oujda and Casablanca to Murcia, thereby expanding the network of air links between Morocco and Spain.
As part of its $1.4 billion investment program, featuring over 1,100 weekly flights on 175 routes, including 35 new routes, spanning 24 international and 11 national destinations. Ryanair had previously announced a reduction in fares for 11 domestic routes within Morocco in December, with one-way fares starting from 330 dirhams, and the creation of over 500 direct jobs in aviation.
The company’s summer 2024 program for Morocco includes plans for 14 aircraft, distributed across key cities such as Marrakech, Fès, Agadir, and the addition of two new planes in Tangier.
