Rabat – Leading the Group D standings with four points, the Angolan and Burkinabe football teams will face-off in a challenging AFCON contest for who will take the group’s lead for a potential 7 points.
The meeting will take place at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro at 9 p.m. Moroccan Time, and will be streamed on Fubo, Fanatiz, Sling TV, and beIN Sports in the US.
With four points each, the Angolan Palancas and Burkinabe Stallions are racing to lead their group, which also includes Algeria and Mauritania, placing third and fourth.
Topping the group standings is essential for every team as it gives the leader the privilege of playing the rest of the games at the initial venue, instead of traveling to another city.
On its ninth appearance in AFCON, Angola, which drew its first game against Algeria 1-1 and won the second against Mauritania 3-2, will seek to surpass its best achievement in 2008 and 2010 when it reached the quarter-finals.
On the other hand, Burkina Faso had won its first encounter against Mauritania 1-0 and drew the second against Algeria 2-2. As the runner up in 2013, The Stallions will not miss on the opportunity to repeat the same epic run in this year’s tournament.
