Rabat – Moroccan couscous brand Dari has categorically denied any alleged partnership with an Israeli company.
The company issued an explanatory statement on Monday after a boycott appeal launched by netizens in response to the appearance of Dari’s couscous products on the website of Israeli company Tomer.
In response, the company denied the “false information” over a recent partnership, noting that it has never concluded any such agreement with Israel or any Israeli company.
Stressing the importance of the brand’s Moroccan identity, the company acknowledged that its products have been widely exported throughout the world, encompassing more than 60 countries across the five continents.
“While the Israeli market has in the past imported small quantities of Dari products, this was based on requests from a category of consumers attached to Moroccan identity and traditions. It should be noted that these products were also sold in Palestine,” the company added.
Dari concluded its press release by renewing its commitment to respecting the“fundamental values of ethics and social responsibility.”
Expressing support for Palestinians amid the human tragedy caused by the Israeli Occupation Forces’ murderous campaign in Gaza, Dari stressed that it does not intend to export any of its products to the Israeli market and reaffirmed that it will continue to improve its reputation and position in Morocco and worldwide.
Since Israel launched its murderous campaign in Gaza on October 7, people worldwide have been calling for the boycott of any companies with links to the country.
The boycott campaign has to date affected the worldwide reputation and sales of several renowned companies, including KFC, Coca Cola, Mcdonald’s, and Starbucks, among others.
Many of the affected companies have announced revenues decline amid the boycott, including Starbucks.
