Palestinian National Council Commends King Mohammed VI’s Role in Defending Palestinian Cause

Fez – The President of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, has commended the role of King Mohammed VI in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Fattouh made his remarks during his visit on Saturday to the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s headquarters in Rabat, accompanied by the Palestinian ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al-Shobaki.

The Agency specified in a press release on Saturday, that Fattouh highlighted Morocco’s position on the Palestinian cause and emphasized the sovereign’s support for the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency.

The Palestinian government recognizes Morocco’s full commitment to supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, he said

Al-Shobaki recalled the emergency humanitarian aid sent by Morocco to Jerusalem and Gaza, on the instructions of King Mohammed VI.

He also welcomed the royal initiative to immediately allocate a hundred additional scholarships for students from Gaza, an operation that is taking place in coordination with Palestinian services.

Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, managing director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, affirmed that the institution continues its work under the direct supervision of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, by providing all possible assistance to brotherly Palestinians and their institutions, under all circumstances.

The agency’s working agenda will also include a range of innovative projects in the fields of media and IT, in addition to the social aid program aimed at supporting orphans, families in need, and those with disabilities, throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Morocco has frequently renewed concerns about the situation in Palestine, which has been under a devastating war launched by the Israeli Occupation Forces since October 7.

In response to the ongoing Israeli aggression, the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Israeli occupation forces’ devastating war against civilians is against international humanitarian law and shared human values.

Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita conveyed these concerns in a phone call on February 12, with Hussein Al Sheikh, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Morocco also condemned the “ineffectiveness of influential countries” in putting an end to the devastating situation in Gaza.

Since Israel’s war on Gaza began, several large-scale demonstrations in the North African kingdom have called for the end of bilateral ties with Israel.
