Rabat- Youssef Amrani, Morocco’s recently appointed Ambassador to the United States, has presented his credentials to President Joe Biden at the White House, Moroccan state media MAP reported today.
This comes to reaffirm the strong and enduring ties between Morocco and the United States, the report added.
In remarks following his audience with the US president, Ambassador Amrani reiterated his commitment to advancing the historic and strategic partnership between Washington and Rabat under the visionary leadership of King Mohammed VI.
With a distinguished career in diplomacy, Ambassador Amrani brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as a Special Advisor to the Royal Cabinet and has held key diplomatic positions in Africa and Latin America.
He also previously served as State Secretary overseeing the Maghreb Union from 1989 to 1992 and held the role of Consul General in Barcelona from 1992 to 1996. He additionally represented Morocco as ambassador to Colombia, Chile, and Mexico.
Amrani’s academic background includes a BA in Economics from Mohammed V University of Rabat and additional studies in Management at the Boston University School of Management.

The Tangier-born seasoned diplomat was announced on October 19 of last year as the replacement of Princess Lalla Joumala in the critical post of US Ambassador to the United States.
His appointment underscores Morocco’s dedication to fostering the evolving mutually beneficial diplomatic relations with the US, which in recent years have been characterized by Washington’s embrace of Morocco’s Western Sahara stance and frequent exchanges of delegations and high-level officials.
