Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Education announced on Thursday the suspension of classes in both private and public schools, exceptionally on April 13 as part of the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
The ministry emphasized that this comes following the government’s decision to exceptionally announce Friday, April 12, as a day off if Eid Al Fitr falls on Wednesday, April 10.
The statement explained that the decision to suspend classes aims to create the appropriate conditions for celebrating Eid Al Fitr.
Eid Al Fitr is predicted to take place on April 10 according to astronomical calculations.
Morocco is yet to confirm the official date of Eid Al Fitr following the crescent moon sighting early next week.
Eid Al Fitr is frequently marked by family visits and travel, especially for those who live far from their relatives.
Many nations in the MENA region, including Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, are expected to announce April 10 as Eid Al Fit.
