Rabat – A court in the city of Fez launched the trial of an infamous rapper for the release of “Char Kobi Atay,” a controversial song accused of inciting violence and minor rape.
The song, released on YouTube, features two people, Youssef and Amine, who use Youss45 and Men Grave as their nicknames.
Police recently arrested one of the two rappers, according to converging reports, referencing Amine.
The defendant, 30, is facing several charges, including inciting minors under 18 to prostitution as well as offense to public decency and derogatory remarks against women.
The song stirred controversy, with human rights activists demanding the arrest and removal of the song entirely from social media, accusing the two rappers of inciting the rape of minors.
Converging reports said many social media users have reported the song, which was later deleted from YouTube.

Despite being deleted from the source, the song remains viral on YouTube as well as other social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
The song made headlines in international news, including outlets DW and Al Arabiya which picked the news to report on the controversy sparked following the release of the controversial song.
Al Arabia said that the song sparked “a lot of controversy, with calls from human rights activists to remove it from social media platforms due to its inclusion of sections deemed unethical.”
DW, for its part, stressed that the song continues to garner high views despite criticism and complaints.
The news outlet said that the original song initially garnered six million views.
