Rabat – Tensions have reached a boiling point in the Israeli-occupied West Bank as Jewish settlers continue to perpetrate violent attacks against Palestinian communities.
According to reports from Al Jazeera, Israeli settlers carried out a series of attacks in the village of Al Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah last night. Residents reportedly responded by throwing stones.
During the assaults, one Palestinian was killed, while at least 25 others were injured. In addition, the group set several homes ablaze.
Local reports said that the Israeli Occupation Forces shot at the convoy that was carrying the body of the Palestinian victim to his village.
In addition, locals told Al Jazeera that the settlers set several homes and cars on fire in Duma as Israeli forces watched.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed the severity of the situation, and warned about the alarming escalation of violence in the region.
In response to the attacks, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid condemned the actions of the settlers, labeling them as “violent riots” and calling for decisive action from the Israeli authorities.
However, tensions continue to simmer following the disappearance of an Israeli teenager early Friday. Israeli forces and hundreds of volunteers formed a search party to locate him yesterday.
The Israeli army has announced that the lifeless body of the missing 14-year-old was found today in what they described as a “terrorist attack.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the teenager’s killing as a “heinous crime.”
