Doha – The UK Foreign Office has issued a warning to British tourists planning to visit Morocco, advising them to ensure their passports meet strict entry requirements to avoid difficulties at airports, the website BirminghamLive reported earlier today.
Citing the Moroccan embassy in the UK, the report explained that travelers should have at least three months of validity remaining on their passports from the date of entry into Morocco. Failure to comply with this requirement could result in being denied entry at the border.
Furthermore, the Foreign Office has cautioned holidaymakers about two additional passport requirements that have caused issues for some tourists. BirminghamLive noted that travelers have been refused entry due to damaged passports, while others have faced difficulties leaving Morocco because their passports were not stamped upon arrival.
“Make sure your passport isn’t damaged. Some travelers have been refused entry when traveling on damaged passports,” BirminghamLive quoted the Foreign Office as stressing in its advisory note.
It also emphasizes the importance of having one’s passport stamped when entering Morocco, as the lack of an entry stamp has led to complications for some tourists when attempting to depart the country.

Morocco is a popular destination for British tourists, with Marrakech alone attracting over 600,000 visitors from the UK annually, according to BirminghamLive. In response to the Foreign Office warning, some experienced travelers have taken to TripAdvisor to offer their perspectives and advice.
One British expat living in Morocco noted that while the Foreign Office advice may appear negative, it is intended to highlight potential travel pitfalls. They encouraged travelers to use common sense and emphasized that there are currently no travel restrictions in place for Morocco.
