Mawazine Festival Unveils First Batch of Star-Studded Lineup for 19th Edition

Doha – The organizers of the Mawazine Festival, also known as Rhythms of the World, have recently lifted the veil on their official Instagram page, revealing the initial lineup of artists set to perform at the festival’s 19th edition. The event is scheduled to take place from June 21 to June 29, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco, offering a diverse array of performances.

Among the first wave of announced performers is the renowned Lebanese singer Carole Samaha, who is set to kick off the festival on June 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the National Theater Mohammed V.

Joining Samaha in the star-studded lineup is another Lebanese sensation, Najwa Karam, often referred to as the “Shining Sun of Arabic Music.” Karam is scheduled to take the Nahda Stage on June 27 at 10:00 p.m.

The OLM Souissi Stage will play host to a series of international artists, including the globally renowned DJ Marc Kinchen, who will be spinning his infectious beats on June 29 at 9:00 p.m.

In a thrilling addition to the lineup, the Korean boy group ATEEZ is set to make history as the first K-pop act to headline the Mawazine Festival. Their performance is scheduled for June 23 at 9:30 p.m. on the OLM Souissi Stage.

Lebanese artist Marwan Khoury has also confirmed his participation in this year’s edition of the Mawazine Festival, further adding to the impressive roster of performers.

Rumors have been circulating on social media and among music enthusiasts about the potential participation of “Moroccan diva” Samira Said in the 2024 edition of the festival. However, neither the artist nor the festival organizers have officially confirmed these speculations as of yet.

The Mawazine Festival is making a return with its 19th edition after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival’s organizers are curating a diverse program that caters to a wide range of musical tastes.

Established in 2001, the Mawazine Festival has become an international platform for promoting Rabat as a cosmopolitan city that embraces cultural diversity. The annual event has consistently drawn in an impressive crowd of approximately 2.5 million music enthusiasts.

Over the years, the festival has featured an array of renowned performers, including iconic figures such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, and Bruno Mars, who have all graced the stage as headliners.

During its previous edition in 2018, the Mawazine Festival achieved a remarkable feat by attracting approximately 3 million attendees from various age groups, solidifying its position as one of the most significant musical events in the region.
