Rabat –  King Mohammed VI, the Supreme Commander and General Chief, addressed an order to the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) today, commemorating the 68th anniversary of the institution.  

In his address, , the King expressed his profound gratitude for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice. 

Paying homage to the esteemed legacy of his predecessors, King Mohammed VI honored the visionary leadership of King Mohammed V and King Hassan II, whose contributions continue to inspire generations of Moroccans.

Addressing the FAR, King Mohammed VI spoke passionately of the pride felt by all Moroccans towards all sectors of the FAR, including the ground, naval, and air commands as well as  the Royal Gendarmerie. He also renewed his sympathy and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the personnel in service of the territorial integrity and defense of national borders.

Highlighting the “colossal work” achieved by the FAR, the King underscored its important role in ensuring a peaceful nation. He emphasized the FAR’s commitment to “authentic values and traditions” while ensuring its capability to fulfill noble missions under all circumstances.

Amidst global uncertainties and unprecedented transformations, King Mohammed VI stressed the importance of reviewing security and defense concepts. He further outlined comprehensive plans to modernize the capabilities of the FAR through rigorous training and qualification programs, ensuring permanent operational readiness and strengthening defensive capabilities.

The King announced ambitious initiatives to enhance military training programs, including the construction of a new headquarters for the Royal College of Higher Military Education. Emphasizing the importance of youth involvement in military service, he viewed it as an opportunity for training and professional qualification while instilling a sense of belonging and responsibility.

Reflecting on recent domestic crises, such as the earthquake in Al Haouz and Taroudant provinces, the King praised the swift and effective response of the FAR and other agencies. He also commended the dedication of female military personnel and underscored their vital role in managing field hospitals and supporting affected populations.

As Morocco celebrates the 68th anniversary of the FAR , it honors not only its past achievements but also looks towards the future with optimism and determination. The anniversary serves as a poignant reminder of Morocco’s enduring commitment to peace, stability, and national unity, underpinned by what the King highlighted as the dedication and sacrifice of its servicemen and women.

This commemoration stands as a testament to the unwavering resolve of the Moroccan people and their steadfast support for the guardians of their nation’s security and prosperity.
