Rabat – As they marked World Refugee Day, the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation, UNHCR, and the Moroccan Family Planning Association (AMPF) signed today an agreement aimed at enhancing healthcare services for refugees in Morocco.
The three parties expressed satisfaction with the agreement, describing it as a crucial step in the quest for improving and promoting healthcare services for refugees in Morocco.
Yasmine Lahlou-Filali, Vice President of the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation, François Reybet-Degat, UNHCR Representative in Morocco, and Abdellatif Maamri, Executive Director of AMPF, signed the three-way partnership agreement.
In converging comments, the three representatives hailed the deal as marking a pivotal step in their joint commitment to support refugees through enhanced medical programs.
As part of the 2024-2026 partnership, the Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation renewed its commitment to donating medications worth one million MAD over the next three years.
These medications will directly support refugees living in Morocco through the collaborative healthcare initiative spearheaded by AMPF and UNHCR.
The Noufissa Pharma 5 Foundation has already delivered the initial supply to AMPF, which is responsible for distributing it to their health centers as a key partner implementing UNHCR’s health initiative in Morocco.
This three-party agreement expands on the groundwork Noufissa Foundation and UNHCR laid out on December 19 of last year during the initial signing of this partnership.
Since its establishment in 2019, the partnership between Noufissa Pharma and UNHCR has paved the way for this enhanced collaboration, with a focus on enhancing refugees’ access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
Lahlou-Filali stated that Noufissa Pharma 5 is committed to supporting refugee integration, particularly in healthcare access, over the next three years, aligning with the royal vision of solidarity and inclusion.

Reybet-Degat also emphasized that this partnership closely aligns with the theme of the 2024 World Refugee Day, emphasizing principles of solidarity and inclusion.
He highlighted Morocco’s national strategy on immigration and asylums, prioritizing the integration of refugees into the healthcare system.
This effort is supported by partnerships with private sector entities such as Pharma 5 and dedicated NGOs like AMPF, he recalled.
Maamri stated that the agreement aims to guarantee a steady supply of medication to refugees through AMPF’s healthcare services, facilitated by UNHCR’s backing and the contribution of the Noufissa Foundation.
According to data from the GCR, the National Council of the Order of Physicians of Morocco (CNOM) signed in June 2020 a multiyear partnership agreement with UNHCR.
The primary aim was to mobilize private sector clinics and practitioners to provide free consultations, treatments and surgeries to refugees residing in Morocco.
This partnership not only demonstrates Morocco’s efforts to promote and preserve humanitarian principles but also highlights the country’s endeavors to foster an inclusive environment where refugees can reconstruct their lives and make valuable contributions to society.
