India PM Modi Extends Eid Al-Adha Greetings to King Mohammed VI

Rabat – India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed heartfelt Eid Al-Adha greetings to King Mohammed VI.

This message, which was quoted in a statement by the Indian embassy in Morocco, underscores the significance of the holy festival in fostering universal values of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood.

Prime Minister Modi’s personal message to King Mohammed VI emphasized the cultural resonance of Eid Al-Adha among India’s Muslim population, highlighting its integral role in India’s rich multicultural fabric.

According to the embassy’s statement, the Indian PM recalled that millions of Indian citizens celebrate the occasion with great fervor, reflecting the country’s commitment to pluralism and unity.

Furthermore, Modi extended sincere wishes for the continued health and well-being of King Mohammed VI, underscoring the warm bilateral relations between India and Morocco.

These ties have deepened significantly since King Mohammed VI’s landmark visit to India in November 2015, marking a pivotal moment in the diplomatic history of the two nations.

The economic relationship between India and Morocco has also blossomed in recent years. Morocco has achieved remarkable economic growth, tripling its GDP and increasing industrial exports sixfold since 1999, with manufactured goods now comprising a significant portion of Moroccan exports.

Trade figures for 2021 illustrate the robust economic exchanges between the two countries. India exported goods valued at $931 million to Morocco, including broadcasting equipment, cars, and synthetic filament yarn.

Meanwhile, Moroccan exports to India totaled $2.1 billion, featuring key items such as phosphoric acid and chemical fertilizers.

The annualized growth rate of Indian exports to Morocco has been an impressive 13.1% over the past 26 years, highlighting the expanding commercial ties.

Similarly, Moroccan exports to India have grown at a rate of 7.7% over the same period, underlining the mutual economic benefits derived from this bilateral relationship.

Prime Minister Modi’s Eid Al-Adha greetings to King Mohammed VI not only reinforce the cultural bonds between India and Morocco but also underscore the increasingly thriving bilateral partnership.
