Benguerir – The second day of the ClimateLaunchpad 2024 Bootcamp kicked off like any great startup journey: with a dream.

Ron Bloemers, CEO of START-U-UP, set the tone with an inspiring story of aQysta-Small Farmers, an innovative brand that not only promotes sustainability but also transforms the lives of farmers in need.

Following this motivational boost, Bloemers delved into the essentials of entrepreneurship, highlighting the significance of a robust business model and the concept of a deal in this field.

This dynamic day also sparked a dual wave of inspiration, championing both entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment in cleantech.

The “Women in CleanTech” expert meeting is a new groundbreaking initiative by ClimateLaunchpad, hosted in partnership with the WOMENA project, supported by GIZ Morocco.

Ron Bloemers, Houda Boutoulout, and Monica Avila Forero

The goals of this program include creating strategies to support and accelerate women’s involvement in CleanTech and entrepreneurship and building a collaborative network of experts to champion women in this sector.

The meeting was attended by over 40 participants, featuring a diverse group of industry specialists and founders from various start-ups.

This assembly of over 20 experts spanning entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, sustainability, investment, and cleantech aims to bolster women’s entrepreneurship in cleantech throughout Morocco, the MENA region, and Africa.

Experts from Morocco and beyond converged at the event to unlock the potential of Moroccan entrepreneurs, assisting them in transforming their startups into impactful CleanTech ventures.

Among the attended included Lamyaa El Bassiti from Startup Universe, Meriam Hamdi of the OCP Foundation, Hajar Mouatassim from Hem Energy, and Sokayna Bellamo of Jodoor.

Also present were Abdessamad Sentissi from Tamkeen Academy, entrepreneurship coach Wacim Benyahya, Hafsa Ouifak from UM6P, and Manal El Attir from  the Womenomics Institute.

These experts brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, further fueling the entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to sustainable development.

From the thrill of innovation to the foundations of founding, participants eagerly absorbed insights about the intersection of their field with entrepreneurship. Their attentive ears tuned in to glean wisdom that would empower their startups, driving them to make a tangible impact in the realm of CleanTech.

The modus operandi wasn’t solely focused on workshops; roundtable discussions were also employed to facilitate direct interaction between participants and experts.

These roundtables provided a platform for meaningful conversations to kickstart connections between startups and industry leaders, fostering collaboration and growth opportunities.

The first roundtable centered on identifying barriers and solutions facing women in this sector, while the second focused on developing ecosystem strategies.

The ClimateLaunchpad 2024 Bootcamp proved to be a pivotal platform for women in cleantech entrepreneurship.

Through a blend of workshops and fruitful discussions, participants gained valuable insights, identified barriers, and developed strategic approaches to foster sustainable innovation.
