Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch has extended his condolences to King Mohammed VI over the death of his mother Princess Lalla Latifa.
In a statement on his official Facebook account, Akhannouch extended his “most sincere” condolences, saying: “I implore Allah the Almighty to grant the deceased His mercy and generous forgiveness, and to welcome her into His vast paradise.”
Morocco’s Minister of Education, Chakib Benmoussa, expressed his condolences on social media. Benmoussa also conveyed the condolences of all personnel working under the ministry.
Former Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane also offered his condolences, as well as those of the Justice and Development (PJD) members.
A statement from the royal cabinet announced the death of Lalla Latifa today.
Born in 1946 in Khenifra, Morocco, Lalla Latifa hailed from the prominent Amahzoune family, part of the Zayane tribe. Her father, Hassan ould Mouha ou Hammou Zayani, was the Pasha of Khenifra and a respected figure in the region.
Several world leaders also conveyed their countries’ condolences to King Mohammed VI.
Today, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said in a message that he “learned with great sadness of the passing of your mother to her Creator and Benefactor.”
“On behalf of myself and the Algerian people, I extend my most sincere condolences.”
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of sincere condolences to King Mohammed VI on the passing of his mother, Princess Lalla Latifa.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, dispatched similar messages to the monarch
