Moroccan kickboxer Ilias Ennahachi is set to face Japanese star Hiroki Akimoto in an intriguing clash at ONE Championship’s anticipated event ONE Friday Fights 81.

Ennahachi and Akimoto will compete in a Bantamweight Kickboxing contest across three rounds.

The former ONE Flyweight world champion will look to make a winning return against the second-ranked Japanese star at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium.

The Moroccan star recently rejoined the prominent martial arts organization, where he holds an unblemished 4-0 record, including two wins by knockouts.

The 28-year-old star enjoyed a highly successful first stint at the martial arts organization and is the only fighter to have defeated Thai megastar and ONE Flyweight Kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo.

Ennahachi moved up to the Bantamweight division in his most recent bout in February last year, securing an impressive second-round knockout victory against Iran’s Aliasghar Ghodratisaraskan.

Winning against Akimoto is exactly what Ennahachi needs to begin his quest of breaking into the Bantamweight Kickboxing rankings.

On the other hand, 31-year-old Akimoto is in need of a win to end his recent slump in form, which has seen him lose two consecutive times against the Bantamweight Kickboxing’s first-ranked and third-ranked stars Wei Rui and Petchtanong Petchfergus.

ONE Friday Fights 81 kicks off at 1:30pm (WET) on Friday, 27 September.
