Rabat – An exclusive video has revealed the design of Morocco’s Hassan II stadium, a key project in the country’s World Cup 2030 campaign.

Euronews, with exclusive access to the video, shared detailed insights into the stadium’s design, including revealing screenshots.

“The North African country has publicly released a video for the first time of the Hassan II Stadium, the whole construction will begin next October. ‘Euronews’ has exclusively accessed the footage, which shows a design similar to the famous Moroccan tents and is a clear nod to the ‘moussem’ culture,” the news outlet said.

Euronews noted that the innovative construction will be overseen by British company Populous, but the stadium will have a Moroccan signature as Moroccan engineer Tarik Oulaalou will provide the design.

The stadium, which will be built in Benslimane in the Casablanca region, will cover 100 hectares.

It is expected to be completed by the end of 2028, less than two years before the World Cup 2030, which Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will co-host.

“Up to 115,000 fans will be able to gather in Casablanca to watch their teams play. Never before in the history of sports competition has there been a stadium with this capacity, designed to host the marches of the 2030 World Cup,” Euronews reported.

Morocco is set to invest approximately $500 million in the project.

Fouzi Lekjaa, President of Morocco’s Football Federation (FRMF), recently said that the stadium will be “exceptional by all standards.”

“[It] will be the largest and finest football landmark in the world,” he added.
