Rabat – Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita held a telephone conversation today with his Japanese counterpart, Kamikawa Yoko. The discussion focused on enhancing the already strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to a statement by Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion revolved around the positive ties between the two countries and the prospects for further strengthening them. This comes in the wake of the “Memorandum of Cooperation for a Reinforced Partnership” the two countries signed in May, which has laid the foundation for expanded cooperation in various sectors.
The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided additional details about the conversation, which lasted approximately 20 minutes. During the call Minister Kamikawa expressed her satisfaction at having the opportunity to speak with Minister Bourita again following their meeting in May.
She reiterated Japan’s commitment to deepening the “cordial” relations with Morocco, emphasizing the importance of the recently signed memorandum, according to the statement.
According to the statement, during the call, both ministers agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral economic relations. They also exchanged views on potential cooperation through multilateral frameworks such as the Japan-Arab Economic Forum and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
The ministers concluded the discussion by agreeing to maintain close communication between their respective countries to ensure continued collaboration and mutual benefit.
