Rabat  – Glovo Maroc experienced a 40% increase in orders during the summer months of June, July, and August 2024, highlighting the growing preference for home delivery services across Morocco.

The surge in demand reflects a combination of factors, including soaring temperatures and a seasonal influx of travelers to the country’s coastal regions.

“This summer was a remarkable period for Glovo in Morocco, with consumer behaviors driven by unique seasonal dynamics,” the company stated in a recent report.

The report emphasizes that the summer season brought a sharp uptick in the use of Glovo’s services, particularly in coastal cities.

M’diq, a popular seaside destination, witnessed an astounding 715% growth in orders, while Nador and Essaouira saw increases of 157% and 92%, respectively.

This growth was fueled not only by local residents but also by a significant number of Moroccans living abroad (MREs) and tourists who flocked to these areas for their summer vacations.

The seasonal spike in orders reflected a shift in consumer preferences, with light meals, bottled water, and sun protection products among the most frequently requested items.

Glovo’s “Recharge Express” service, which allows users to quickly top up their mobile phones and devices, also saw a substantial boost in popularity during the summer months.

Having established its presence in Morocco nearly six years ago, Glovo has steadily expanded its footprint across the country. Today, Glovo operates in 38 cities, covering nearly 80% of Morocco’s urban population.

The platform connects users with over 6,500 restaurant and retail partners, helping these businesses increase their revenues.

Additionally, more than 4,500 couriers use the platform to generate income, benefiting from the flexibility to set their own working hours.

According to the Group’s Director of Public Affairs in Morocco, Adnane Lachheb, the company’s strategic focus remains on rapid expansion and deepening its market penetration across the Kingdom.

With an estimated one in seven Moroccans having downloaded or used the Glovo app, the platform’s influence on everyday life in Morocco continues to grow.

As home delivery becomes increasingly ingrained in the lifestyle of Moroccans, Glovo is positioning itself as a key player in this evolving market, catering to the rising demand for convenience.
