Rabat – Real Madrid is reportedly preparing to sell several players, including Moroccan international Brahim Diaz, during the 2026 summer transfer window.

The decision comes as the club seeks to address financial challenges following a ban on concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which has impacted its revenue stream.

According to Spanish newspaper Reliefio, four players have been identified as potential departures. Alongside Diaz, the list includes Aurélien Tchouaméni, Ferland Mendy, and Dani Ceballos. This move is part of Real Madrid’s broader strategy to manage its squad and finances in the coming years.

The ban on concerts at the iconic stadium, imposed after multiple complaints from local authorities in Madrid, has created a financial shortfall, pushing the club to explore player sales to balance the books.

Diaz, who has impressed since returning to the team a year and a half ago, has been instrumental in securing major titles for the club. These include victories in La Liga, the Spanish and European Super Cups, and the Champions League. His standout performances in crucial matches have made the club’s decision to part ways with him particularly surprising to fans.

This season, Diaz has appeared in 9 matches, totaling 254 minutes, during which he contributed to 3 goals. Last season, he played 44 matches, accumulating 2,066 minutes and contributing to 21 goals.

Diaz originally joined Real Madrid in the winter of 2019 on an 8-and-a-half-year contract, before being loaned to AC Milan.

The Atlas Lion returned to the Spanish club in the summer of 2023.
