Rabat – Real Madrid sees Moroccan football star Brahim Diaz as a key figure for the team’s future, shutting down any speculation about a potential transfer.

Spanish sports news outlet Marca reported today that the football star remains firmly in the club’s plans with no intentions of letting him leave Los Blancos.

“Carlo Ancelloti went from barely counting on him to missing him during his absences. Brahim Diaz has transitioned from being a supporting player to playing a key role in Read Madrid’s daily drama,” the news outlet said, adding that the football player has become an indispensable component to the team.

The news outlet went on to commend the Atlas Lion and his performances with Real Madrid and Morocco, adding that both the coach and Los Blancos president are delighted by his positive energy and football skills.

“The exit door is completely shut, leaving no room for speculation – at least from the club leadership,” Marca wrote, noting that the Atlas Lion is determined and has a real chance to secure a starting spot at the Spanish club.

In the 2024-2025 season, he played seven matches with Real Madrid, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Diaz scored eight goals in the previous season and made six assists in 31 matches. He has been also making headlines for his spectacular performances with Morocco – the national team he chose to represent over Spain.

In the AFCON qualifiers, he showed  his brilliance by scoring a hat trick in Morocco’s march against Lesotho on Monday.

He also delivered exceptional assists, netting five goals during Morocco’s recent games.

“The five goals he scored in his last matches for Morocco serve as yet another credential for the coaching staff, showcasing his capabilities,” Marca wrote.

Despite his impressive journey and headline-making triumphs with both Morocco and Real Madrid, Diaz has been notably absent from the latest CAF Awards nominations.

His omission sparked outrage among fans, who are questioning the criteria under which players are selected for the CAF Awards.
