Rabat– The career of Hakim Ziyech, the renowned Moroccan playmaker, has taken a significant downturn as his market value has plummeted from a peak of MAD 565 million ($54.5 million) to just MAD 58 million ($5.45 million). This drastic decline reflects his struggles at Turkish club Galatasaray, where he has faced limited playing time and dissatisfaction with his role.
Ziyech’s tenure at Galatasaray has been marred by discontent, leading to rumors of an impending exit. The 31-year-old international has openly voiced his frustrations, reportedly stating, “Galatasaray is over for me. I do not want to play. I will leave in January,” during an encounter with Turkish journalist Haluk Yurekli. This candid admission has intensified speculation regarding his future with the club.
Adding to the tension, Ziyech recently deleted all posts related to Galatasaray from his Instagram account, signaling his unhappiness. His on-field contributions have dwindled significantly, with only 87 minutes played across six matches this season, failing to register any goals or assists.
Despite these challenges, Ziyech remains an attractive option for several clubs. Ligue 1 team Rennes and multiple Premier League teams are reportedly keen on acquiring him. However, his salary demands may complicate potential transfer negotiations as the January transfer window approaches.
Ziyech’s journey from Ajax Amsterdam—where he was celebrated for his skills—to Chelsea and now Galatasaray has been marked by unfulfilled potential. His current situation raises questions about his future and whether he can reclaim his status as one of football’s creative talents.
As the January transfer window nears, all eyes will be on Ziyech to see if he can secure a move that revitalizes both his career and reputation on the pitch.
