Rabat – Morocco is taking big steps to transform the corporate landscape using Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the GenAI Summit Maroc 2024. The event will take place at the Sofitel Rabat Jardin des Roses on December 10-11.

The two-day event will gather leaders and insiders to discuss how AI can shake up key sectors such as healthcare, finance, education and governance.

Morocco is stepping up its efforts to lead the way in AI under its Digital Morocco 2030 plan in the hopes of propelling the country into an era of economic and technological growth.

“AI is a powerful tool for growth and innovation,” said Rachid Baarbi, CIO-CDO of Assurances Lyazidi in a press release. “This summit is an important step in Morocco’s digital ambitions.”

Top Names are in the line-up of speakers including Mimoun Ouchaou; General Manager of IBM Morocco, Abdelaziz Benyahya; CTO at AXA, Aida Kandil; CEO of MyTindy and Women in Tech leader, Samia Jnini; Global Head of Generative AI Atos, and  Mohammed Yassir ZAHRAOUI; CIO and Information System Director at MASEN.

The summit has teamed up with Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique (UM6P) as its knowledge partner and Women in Tech Morocco as its community partner.

“This collaboration will ensure access to cutting-edge AI research, and thought leadership that supports Morocco’s AI evolution and digital transformation goals,” said the event organiser, CollabConf, in the statement.

The event will feature panels, discussions, and networking sessions. Sponsors like DXC Technologies, DELL, and Atos will also put on display their latest innovations.

Globally, Morocco is leading the way in AI adoption. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) released a survey that Morocco ranks among the countries that use ChatGPT the most. Four in five Moroccans know about the AI tool, while two in five actively use it.

The use of AI is quite popular among Morocco’s youthful, tech-savvy population. They embrace AI tools for school, work, and everyday tasks. It is used more in solving real-life problems and helping with finances, and productivity.

Globally, India leads with one in two using ChatGPT, while developed nations like the US lag behind.
