Rabat – Israeli forces have conducted several attacks on various locations in Lebanon, raising questions about the fragile ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.

Israeli forces targeted today what they called a “terrorist” cell in the village of Aaqbeh in Lebanon’s Bekaa province. They have not yet shared further details about the attack.

In another incident, an Israeli drone attacked the village of Beit Lif in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh governorate. No immediate reports about casualties or damage have been released.

Renewed Israeli strikes on the town of Haris in southern Lebanon left six people dead and two injured, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. The death toll from all Israeli attacks on Lebanon on the same day has now risen to 12.

Israel’s warplanes also carried out attacks on villages in Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts. Before dawn, flares and thermal balloons were launched over Aita al-Shaab, another village in the Nabatieh governorate.

Lebanon’s Al-Nour Radio reported that one of its journalists, Ali Hassan Ashour, was killed in an Israeli strike. The exact location and timing of the attack were not specified.

Israeli forces have claimed that they targeted several Hezbollah positions in response to fire from the group in the occupied Shebaa Farms. Israel’s military chief, Herzi Halevi, described their approach to the ceasefire as maintaining it “with fire.”

The United States, however, has a different view of the ceasefire. US officials, including envoy Amos Hochstein, have expressed concerns that Israel’s actions could destabilize the agreement. Despite these tensions, the US has stated that the ceasefire is still holding.

Israel’s attacks have created fear among Israeli residents in northern communities near the border. The Israeli government plans to hold a cabinet meeting in these areas to reassure residents and encourage them to return to their homes.
