Rabat — Morocco’s rise as a premier destination has not only captured the attention of millions of travelers but also sparked widespread media interest.
RFI highlighted Morocco as a “top choice” tourism destination, drawing comparison between the country and North African destinations , like Egypt.
RFI noted that Morocco is set to surpass Egypt as the “most visited destination” in the region.
The report cited the county’s cultural diversity and political stability, as well as world class attractions such as Marrakech and Chefchaouen.
“The city enjoys excellent connectivity, particularly with low-cost airlines, making it a top choice for both foreign visitors and Moroccan expatriates,” RFI said.
Statistics from the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism documented the tourist boom Morocco recorded recently.
Earlier this week, the ministry celebrated the 15.9 million tourist arrivals recorded by the end of November. The number surpassed the figure forecasted by the ministry, which sought to attract 15 million arrivals this year.
Morocco’s tourism ministry also seeks to attract 17 million tourists in 2026 and 26 million more in 2030.
“The remarkable rise in tourism can be attributed to Morocco’s extensive efforts to promote its diverse destinations,” RFI said.
Morocco has been intensifying efforts to boost its tourism sector through new initiatives by the Ministry of Tourism and the National Tourism Office (ONMT).
The two tourism bodies have forged various partnerships with international airlines to establish new routes connecting Moroccan cities to destinations worldwide, in addition to launching several marketing campaigns to promote Morocco as a must-visit destination.
