Morocco’s weather office is forecasting thunderstorms, snowfall, and locally strong wind to hit several provinces across several provinces until Friday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DMN) said on Wednesday that snowfall of 25 and 50 centimeters is expected on Thursday in the provinces of Ifrane, Khenifra, Sefrou, Al Haouz, Midelt, Boulemane, and Ouarzazate.
The orange level alert will also concern Tinghir, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Taza, and Guercif.
Snowfall of 5 and 10 centimeters is also expected in the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Taourirt, Al Hoceima, and Chefchaouen.
On Friday, snowfall between 15 and 30 centimeters is also expected in the provinces of Boulemane, Khenifra, Sefrou, Ifrane, Midelt, and Azilal, while Taourit, Jerada, and Figuig will also witness snowfall between 5 and 10 centimeters.
Locally strong thunderstorms producing 20-35 millimeters will hit Northern cities like Tangier, Tetouan, Fahs-Anjra, M’Diq-Fnideq, Larache, and Chefchaouen from Wednesday from 6 p.m. to Thursday 9 a.m.
The same weather will also hit the provinces of Taza, Khenisset, Meknes, El Hajeb, Sefrou, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Moulay Yacoub, and Khouribga.
Locally strong wind guests from 75 and 90 kilometers per hour are also expected in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, and Taza from Wedensday at 7 p.m. to Thursday at 7 a.m.
