Rabat – In recognition of the hard work and commitment of Morocco’s police force, 10,393 officers were promoted in 2024, with 466 of them being women.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) reports that nearly 68% of officers listed for advancement received promotions this year, marking a significant increase compared to previous years.
Of those promoted, 7,005 were uniformed officers, while 3,388 served in plain clothes services.
In 2024, the focus was on promoting lower and mid-ranking officers. Among those promoted, 3,564 moved up to the rank of police brigadier, 1,269 were promoted to chief brigadier, and 1,716 earned the rank of senior police inspector.
This shift underlines a clear effort to reward long-standing service and ensure that officers who have demonstrated consistent dedication are recognized and advance in their careers.
Promotions were based on a detailed evaluation process that relied on merit and professional competence.
The criteria considered years of service, as well as individual performance, discipline, and the nature of each officer’s role.
This system ensures that those who make significant contributions to public safety and security are fairly compensated.
The DGSN continues to make annual promotions a priority, viewing them as a key strategy to motivate officers. In 2023, more than 7,500 officers were promoted, including 280 women.
The number of officers who received promotions has increased in 2024, reflecting a stronger investment in the growth of Morocco’s police force.
This rise in promotions shows an effort to support those who contribute to public safety and enhance service quality.
These advancements serve as an important incentive while encouraging both men and women in the force to remain engaged in their roles of protecting citizens and performing their duties to the highest standards.
