Rabat 0 Moroccan law enforcement arrested on Thursday a 19-year-old Swedish citizen, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant.
The arrest took place at the checkpoint of the Spanish enclave Ceuta on Thursday. The Interpol database showed that the National Central Bureau in Stockholm had issued a red notice against the suspect due to suspicions of his involvement in the possession of assault firearms for criminal purposes.
Police put the suspect under custody pending legal procedure.
Following the man’s arrest, the Moroccan National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat received instructions to notify Sweden about the arrest to start an extradition procedure.
The arrest is part of Morocco’s commitment to sustain its security cooperation.
