Rabat – Police in Sale have reportedly arrested four individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and the possession of psychotropic substances.
The arrests took place on Wednesday, based on intelligence provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), Le360 reported.
The first suspect was apprehended upon entering Sale while arriving in a vehicle from a northern city.
After a thorough search, police discovered 11,400 “Rivotril” psychotropic pills in the suspect’s possession, along with a sum of money believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, the report quoted a security source as saying.
Further investigations led to the arrest of three other individuals suspected of being part of the same criminal network.
All four suspects have been placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor.
The authorities are carrying out their investigation to uncover possible links to other accomplices and further uncover the network’s operations.
