Rabat – Lille Olympique Sporting Club forward Osame Sahraoui claimed his first Player of the Month (Dogue du Mois) award this season.
As a new sign-on for the team, he has put on stellar performances with 2 goals and 2 assists during this period, edging out Hakon Haraldsson for the title.
The Moroccan winger’s first monthly award since joining the club comes on the back of two consecutive achievements that had a good run in both domestic and European competitions.
The 23-year-old’s impact was particularly evident in Lille’s commanding 3-1 victory over Saint-Etienne, where he unleashed his clinical finishing with goals in the 63rd and 78th minutes.
Sahraoui’s performance followed an equally impressive display in the UEFA Champions League against Feyenoord, establishing Sahraoui as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting talents.
In a recent interview with DAZN, Sahraoui reflected on what he called an “unforgettable week” of football.
Despite his success, the humble winger was quick to credit his teammates and manager Bruno Genesio, whom he described as “more than just a fantastic coach — an incredible person.”
“Every goal is a result of great teamwork,” Sahraoui said, adding “I was just in the right place at the right time.”
This team-first mentality has endeared him to the Lille faithful and contributed to his rapid rise since joining the club.
As Lille continues their push for Champions League qualification, Sahraoui’s January performances have set a new standard for excellence at the club.
His combination of skill, composure, and selfless play makes him a worthy recipient of the Player of the Month award and signals exciting times ahead for both the player and club.
