Achraf Hakimi stole the show on Sunday night, bagging a brace as Paris Saint-Germain edged past Lyon 3-2 in a thrilling French league clash. The Moroccan’s stunning performance earned him a spot in the league’s Team of the Week and kept PSG unbeaten while stretching their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 13 points.
Hakimi burst into goalscoring form in the 53rd minute, smashing home a thunderous strike following a pinpoint pass by Bradley Barcola. The Parc des Princes again erupted just six minutes later when Ousmane Dembele curled in a beauty to the top right-hand corner to double PSG’s advantage.

Achraf Hakimi then went in front of PSG’s supporters and celebrated the goal by mimicking the movement of playing the violin in Chaabi music style – the same celebration that famous Moroccan streamer, Ilyas El Maliki, performed when his Kings League team scored a goal during the Kings World Cup Nations in Italy last month.Â

Lyon clawed one back through Rayan Cherki in the 83rd minute, raising hopes of a late comeback. But Hakimi had other ideas. The Moroccan full-back sealed the win just two minutes later with a ruthless finish, silencing the home crowd.
“Hakimi was unstoppable,” PSG boss Luis Enrique raved. “He gave everything, and we feel unbeatable right now.”
PSG clinched their eighth straight win in all competitions, and are taking huge strides into securing their 13th Ligue 1 title.Â
