Rabat — Moroccan international football star Noussair Mazraoui shared his inspirational thoughts with Manchester United’s Muslim Supporters’ Club at Old Trafford this week.
During the meeting, the football star answered fans’ questions, reassuring them to “never lose sight of your dreams.”
“Seeing your parents so proud is something that makes you more proud,” he said, noting that achievements bring pride to the whole family.
“That is something that gives your heart a nice feeling,” the Atlas Lion added.
The meeting comes as the Muslim world is celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Saturday in the UK.
During his meeting, Mazraoui also delved into how he started his career, remarking that playing in the streets as a child was an important part of his upbringing, as it helps players learn skills that they cannot learn in the academy.
“The rules of the streets are very different,” he said.
The fans from the Supporter Club expressed satisfaction with the meeting, describing Mazraoui as a “humble guy.”
“It was unbelievable. He was such a humble guy, and he came across really well. It was really nice to meet him,” said the fans club’s co-founder and secretary, Asif Mahmud.
He also thanked Manchester United for organizing the gathering.
Noussair Mazraoui is key for Morocco’s national team, with whom he has been featured in key football events — including AFCON and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Mazraoui joined Manchester United last year in August. The news made international headlines, with Moroccan fans expressing pride that another Atlas Lion joined the Premier League.
This season, Mazraoui appeared in 27 games with his club in the Premier League. He scored no goals during the season, but he made one assist. He also appeared seven times in the Europa League.
