Doha – Allianz Trade has appointed Philippe Dessèvre as its new Global Head of Reinsurance and CEO of Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG, effective October 1.
Dessèvre will succeed Benoît des Cressonnières, who will retire after serving the company for nearly three decades.
Dessèvre, 56, brings extensive financial expertise to his new role, having held various leadership positions within Allianz Trade since 2000.
His most recent position is CFO of Allianz Trade in DACH – the region comprising Germany (D), Austria (A), and Switzerland (CH) – where he has served since January 2022.
Prior to this, he demonstrated his risk management capabilities as the group chief risk officer from 2016 to 2021, where he developed and implemented enterprise risk management strategies.
During this tenure, Dessèvre focused on enhancing stakeholders’ understanding of risk management and improving risk quantification for better capital management.
His previous roles within the organization include CFO/COO positions at Allianz Trade for Multinationals and Allianz Trade in France.
The outgoing Global Head of Reinsurance, Benoît des Cressonnières, 64, will retire on September 30.
Des Cressonnières joined the group in 1997 as CFO of Allianz Trade in Belgium and has since held several key positions, including directing reinsurance and investor relations and serving as corporate secretary at the Paris headquarters.
He currently serves as a member of the managing committee of the Allianz Group Reinsurance Office and has recently completed his term as president of the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA).
The appointment is subject to standard regulatory approval requirements.
Allianz Trade, headquartered in Paris, operates in over 40 countries with 5,800 employees and reported a consolidated turnover of €3.8 billion in 2024, with insured global business transactions representing €1,400 billion in exposure.
